A new children’s film school might be the answer for those who prefer “the other side of the camera”

StageSchool Ireland introduces Clapperboard Junior Film School..

Clapperboard, a new and bespoke film school comes to St Mary’s College,Galway on Saturday afternoons this October with highly respected film maker and resident director, Matthew Hurley and guest cinematography instructors.

These unique, professional one year courses are a great way for young people to gain intensive, concentrated training in all aspects of film making, film history, animation and production. With personalised, small classes of 14 students, the weekly sessions give specific instruction which are practical, educational and great fun.

Clapperboard is age appropriate for 8 to 17 year olds as an enjoyable, action packed activity and those who wish to study film at third level in the future. The programme consists of three x ten week modules alongside normal academic terms from 2.30pm to 5pm on Saturdays and will launch 1st October 2016 to 10th December 2016.

EACH CLAPPERBOARD TERM CARRIES A UNIQUE FORMULA OF FILM PRODUCTION, CINEMA HISTORY, SCREEN WRITING, CINEMATOGRAPHY, END OF TERM FILM SHOWCASE FOR PARENTS, FILM PROJECTS, GUEST MASTERCLASSES AND Q AND A DISCUSSIONS.

Fees are 14 euro per hour which includes all tuition, course materials and film education packs and use of all film equipment and insurance. All teachers are professionally qualified and garda vetted with StageSchool Ireland.
