John is an actor, educator and respected children’s theatre producer. His first West End engagement was in 1997 at The Royal Court Theatre London – his many other London appearances since include: The Master Forger, Sleeping Around, Macbeth, Bottom Dog, Black Soap, Martine, The Journalists, Quartermaines Terms, Coffee, Cigarettes and Paranoia, Arms and The Man and The Tempest after training as an actor at Arts Educational Schools London.

His numerous television and film appearances include The Bill, Madrid, Diameter of a Bomb, The God Club, Mule, Fair City, Uncle Max, When Love Goes Wrong, The Paul Ramsden Story and Tonight with Trevor McDonald and has worked with leading industry figures from Frances De La Tour, Guy Retallack, Michael Ferguson and Arnold Wesker.

John has designed and compiled a number of children’s theatre courses in Theatre In Education and corporate role playing before moving to Galway in 2006 where he currently lives. He is co-founder of StageSchool Ireland (which has educated over 2,500 children and teens in the last decade). He is also co-founder of Clapperboard Junior Film School and the recent award winning Teenage Stage International Summer School. John is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts and is a passionate advocate in the power of arts education to complement normal academic study and unlock creative potential, confidence and enriching experience in all young people.
