Teenage Stage International Summer School, the advanced and intensive residential course for 11 to 19 year olds will come to Belfast for the first time in 2017!
Course Director, John Lucey, said:
“We are pleased to continue our successful partnership with NUIG and industry leading staff, so young people get a high quality residential theatre week and a fantastic holiday.”
The 2017 course in wonderful Victoria College near Cranmore Park will offer like-minded students a full drama school experience; classes in dance, drama and singing from leading theatre directors, choreographers and teachers but with professional, fun training and a bonus action packed timetable each evening. Students will work on ‘Sweeney Todd’ (school edition) and will perform on the final day to a live audience.
In addition to the best teachers, Teenage Stage will involve three undergraduate drama students in an assistant capacity from Queens University, Belfast and this course concept was designed to be educationally enriching as well as providing professional training in seven intensive days. The courses are 95% technology free and students are asked to serve the course, (not the iPad) while in attendance with a disciplined, fun approach to rehearsal and a genuine thirst for theatrical knowledge and new skills.”
There are no auditions and all that the students require is enthusiasm and a generosity of spirit to eat, drink and sleep theatre! The course is running from Sunday 23rd to Saturday 29th July and places for this bespoke course are limited – so don’t miss out!
