Child safeguarding at StageSchool Ireland

StageSchool Ireland is committed to the Children First National Guidelines for the Protection & Welfare of Children in all our centres.

We have a duty of care to our students, and parents need to feel confident that as an organisation, we have the safety of their children as our primary concern.

Our teaching staff are all Garda Vetted, receive full background checks as well as updates and regular training on child protection protocol. Our specialist teachers are supported by teaching assistants. In addition, a non-teaching centre director is always on site to attend to student and parent needs.

StageSchool Ireland has full public liability and professional indemnity insurance with Allianz. Our Child protection policy follow all national guidelines and copies of Children First, are available in all our centres and online.

A vital part of our Child Safeguarding Policy is is that each centre is run by a Director whose role is to supervise rather than teach. Whilst the tuition is delivered by specialist teachers, the Director is free to visit and observe all of the classes at the school.

Two week trials in our centres are available, subject to space. All prospective students should be welcomed to apply regardless of social, political, religious and cultural background, sexual orientation or gender. StageSchool Ireland understands that from time to time, children or teenagers may misbehave but in the event of this happening, a code of conduct and procedures are in place to warn students of the consequences. StageSchool Ireland operates a Zero tolerance to bullying in all our centres to students, parents and teachers alike.

Some children and teens may have a range of individual special education needs or complex behaviours that our teachers may be able to blend into our programme. However, it must also be accepted that these students may be vulnerable and not all will be able to cope with the ensemble style used in an arts educational framework. Parents should be clear that two week trial works from both sides and it may not be possible to include students who, although enjoying the experience, are either disruptive to the learning of the main body of the group, or who are not able to access learning or participate and engage in the learning activity. StageSchool Ireland, will where possible and where resources are available, make reasonable adjustment to accommodate the physical, behavioural and learning needs of the child. Parents should email in advance of booking in strictest confidence.
